About Me
Who am I?
-
I’m an urban-dwelling 30-something who lives and works full time in Chicago, Illinois. Lots of my posts in between my destination guides and travel hacks will be full of tips and tricks for vacationing in my home city!
-
I’m a multifaceted artist dedicated to making travel an art form. I’m a writer, visual artist (water-based markers being my favorite weapons), actor, and crafter (think knitting and cross stitch.)
-
I’m a huge nerd. Probability of Lord of the Rings references appearing in my posts is astronomically high.
-
I firmly believe that the singular of “sheep” should be “shoop.”
-
I’m queer as hell and not shy about it. (Bisexual, arospec, nonbinary, and genderfluid for those of you who like the terminology!) My pronouns are they/them.
-
Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Black Lives Matter. Reproductive rights are human rights. Homophobes, racists, and misogynists need not subscribe.
How do I like to Travel?
-
Frequently. I average 5-6 vacations a year depending on my budgets and how many days of PTO I have left. I like to make at least one of those an international trip! Join in and I'll teach you how to make the post of your travel time and funds.
-
Light. I only ever travel with carry-on luggage. Stick around and I’ll teach you how!
-
Solo. At least half of my annual vacations are solo trips. This began from a place of “I can’t find anyone to go with me so I’m just going to go,” and grew into the best thing I have ever done (and continue to do) for myself. Follow along with me to demystify solo travel! And don’t worry, I’ll cover my group travels here too.
